Mookaite jasper from Australia is one of my favorite forms of jasper. It comes in an amazing range and combinations of colors: creamy whites, golden yellows, greenish browns, reds, burgundy, even rare purple, and at times black dendrites.

It comes in an amazing range and combinations of colors: creamy whites, golden yellows, greenish browns, reds, burgundy, even rare purple, and at times black dendrites. There is no end to the patterning and color combinations. Even the more solidly colored pieces carry a special energy about them. We recently acquired seven pounds of tumbled mookaite and also have fabulous chunks, slabs, eggs, hearts, and marbles.

Mookaite is earthy, grounding, and protective as are all jaspers, but to me, it seems to contain some secret information or magic regarding the mystery of earth plane existence. Melody says that it reveals that which has been concealed and provides for flashes of ideas. This must be what I am sensing. She goes on to describe a myriad of additional pragmatic and functional qualities such as it’s ability to sooth excitable states, support emotional growth, assist one in decision-making and assessing problems, and my personal favorite, its ability to assist in generating kindness towards oneself and others. No wonder I long to lounge on a bed of tumbled mookaite!
